The history of Aberfeldy malt whisky dates back to the late-19th century. Back then, before cars and motorways, a Puggy Engine (a small steam locomotive) delivered barley and oak to the Dewar brothers' enterprise, before taking their precious golden liquid to market. The old train resides on site to this day, close to the distillery's main buildings, which include the original pagoda tower - an iconic symbol of Scotch whisky architecture.
