Ikebana: The Art of Arranging Flowers [Sato, Shozo, Yoshimura, Kasen] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Ikebana: The Art of Arranging Flowers Review: Gorgeous book - excellent ideas. Review: Complete, beautiful, inspiring - This guide is much more than a picture book - it is an instruction manual for how to teach yourself Ikebana. There are numerous color photographs of many different styles of Ikebana, which are great as teaching examples or simply some inspiring designs to browse through. Most useful in this book were the line drawings of Ikebana arrangements with labels to break down the very specific parts of the arrangements. There are also some examples of common mistakes that are made in some Ikebana arrangements and how to fix them or what might make them better. Very thoughtful! This book will not only show you what Ikebana looks like, it will tell you the tools and specific techniques for this art form. It will also give you the cultural background behind the art and the thought process behind Ikebana designs. This book not only shows well, it reads well for the flower or art enthusiast. I would recommend this book for any floral artist looking to bring new energy to their work. It will keep you busy for hours - great value, worth the price.

Perfect Present for Gardening Mother
I bought this book as a present for my mother who is a gardener and has expressed interest in Ikebana. She told me last week, over four months after I gifted her the book that she absolutely loves it and finds herself leafing through every few days. She said the pictures are magical and it's given her a lot of inspiration.

GOOD BOOK
A wealth of information and pictures to help the beginning practitioner of ikebana. Only criticism is that the print is quite small.

Delightful, well illustrated tome on the ancient art of Ikebana. My wife, who is in charge of this department at home, credits this gem with having taught her, in simple terms and with plenty of diagrams, how to set up gorgeous floral arrangements. I have heard the "Ooohs" and "Aaahs" of her friends when they come visit.

Ikebana and my Toastmaster's speech
I recently signed up to give a speech in Toastmaster's and purchased this book to learn about Ikebana. This book is wonderful, the pictures are wonderful and I will say the print in the book is rather small. Besides the small print, everything else was extremely thorough.

This book has a lot of interesting tips for ikebana-lovers. This book contains a lot of photos with beautifull ikebana- flowers with comments how it was done and why it was done in this way. I also like that at the end of the book I can study the text list with different flowers description and comments about meaning of each flower in case you will put it in ikebana. I think this book will be a good present for those who starts in arranging ikebana flowers.
