a good pure dac w/ volumn control for dsd and red cd files playback.w/ little power supply enhancement, this unit is very very dynamic and sound stage is 3D w/ good focus.a little suppressed at top high frequency spectrum, which could be desirable for solid state amplifiers.if you do not need network/usb storage playback capability, buy this bargain. Otherwise, take a look at oppo 205, which needs more extensive modification in analogue output stage to surpass the sound quality of x22.
